STEALTH 2.0 TEC THE REVOLUTION CONTINUES
The birth of the STEALTH 2.0 classic began a revolution in sidemount diving which continues to this day. Three years after the classic, we decided to make the worlds best sidemount system even better.
As a base we used the outstanding STEALTH 2.0 harness and weight management system so that all STEALTH components could be seamlessly compatible. STEALTH 2.0 is after all a tried and tested technology and an advanced design. We kept the perfect streamlining and balance as per the classic, but in a wing that offered additional lift to cope with the demands of deep, multi-cylinder technical dives.
Dive Deeper, Dive Longer, Dive Safer
The STEALTH 2.0 TEC was designed to excel in deep decompression diving and in extended cave penetrations. 19Kg of lift in the wing can easily support the multiple cylinders that advanced diving s. Increasing the STEALTH 2.0 buoyancy meant ensuring that the movement and position of the gas could be properly managed. The STEALTH 2.0 TEC BC does this brilliantly, keeping you stable, balanced and in trim, whatever the level of inflation.
More Lift, even more Streamlined
Increasing the lift of the BCD whilst maintaining and even improving the streamlining d a complete rethink on wing design. New solutions offered a spectacular result.
Multi cylinders are now easily supported, even if they are large volume heavy steels or cave filled. At the same time, the STEALTH 2.0 TEC is incredibly slender, even when fully inflated.
Manage your Buoyancy whilst Staying in Trim
Many sidemount BCD’s place the dump valve on one side or the other. Releasing gas from these systems s a roll onto your side, maybe OK in 2 cylinder configuration, but when carrying multiple cylinders, changes of trim and balance considerable effort that really should not be needed.
By placing the dump valve in the centre of the STEALTH 2.0 TEC wing, you can release excess gas with either hand, and stay in perfect trim while you do so.
Choose the Ideal Feed for your Inflator
Depending on how you to configure your sidemounts, low pressure inflation feeds usually run off the left and right main cylinders, one to the wing and one to the drysuit. You can choose which side you prefer the wing feed to come from based on whether you might ever hand off a cylinder, whether you feed from a stage or dedicated suit inflate cylinder, or simply because you prefer using your left or right hand for buoyancy control.
Protection Where its Needed
If you are going to catch any part of the system in a narrow wreck passage or cave restriction, it will probably be the upper part of your back first. We have thought ahead and reinforced the upper part of the BCD, improving the fit to your back and eliminating snagging hazards. Safe, functional and secure.
STEALTH 2.0 HARNESS – CORE TECHNOLOGY
The STEALTH 2.0 harness was a ground-breaking approach that revolutionised sidemount harnesses. At the core of the STEALTH 2.0 system it provides technical divers with a foundation of comfort and safety unparalled anyelse in the dive industry. The TEC wing is fixed to the harness for added security during the deep part of the dive and on your decompression stops.
The STEALTH 2.0 features harness webbing of differing thickness and stiffness for comfort but also for enhanced performance. Security and adjustability is designed into the harness to enhance the diving experience. D rings on the waist strap can be moved to allow for changes in tank buoyancy and control of cylinder position, even if carrying buoyant high helium mixes. Often copied the STEALTH 2.0 harness is unequalled.
No Restriction of Movement
The position of our axis of rotation and our centre of gravity control our balance and trim in the water. By setting the STEALTH 2.0 junctions (‘nodes’) for the shoulder and waist straps on anatomical landmarks, then regardless of your position in the water, the harness will stay exactly as you set it up. The central weight pocket can move relative to the lower node for maximum comfort and zero resistance.
There is when turning the body, no movement of the shoulder straps and nothing to get in the way of complete freedom of movement.
Rapid Harness Configuration
Un single piece harnesses the STEALTH 2.0 has independent adjustment of the shoulder and waist straps. Changing the shoulder strap length does not change the waist D ring positions. The crotch strap is an independent adjustment. It is fast and simple to obtain the perfect fit and configuration for multi cylinder diving.
Technical instructors value every minute in the water and rather than spend up to half a day adjusting a single piece harness, you can be diving much much faster.
Technically Advanced Webbing
Three different webbing technologies in the STEALTH 2.0 harness meet the functional challenges of deep technical diving.
On the waist there is a stiff and rigid webbing that ensures the D rings for clipping off your cylinders stay exactly you want them, even with stages or deco cylinders. Shoulder straps mould to your body by using softer material and give great fit and ease of movement. The crotch strap is super soft but supportive without leading to wear on your drysuit.
Materials technology, applied with innovation.
THE WORLDS’ BEST WEIGHT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Attach your weights exactly you want them. Achieving perfect balance and trim, even with 5 or 6 cylinders, is simple, whether you need one 1Kg or over 20Kg.
Designed to keep weights secure and immovable whilst remaining easy to use and flexible, the STEALTH 2.0 weight management system is truly world class.
Take the Weight You Want
Technical diving is equipment focussed and s multiple backups. Add in multiple gas blends in a variety of cylinders, throw in a drysuit with a thick thermals and proper weighting is vital. Most other sidemount systems, even those who have copied our designs, struggle to manage accomodating sufficient weight, especially in the right places . Limits on you can place weight will lead to compromises in balance and trim.
The STEALTH 2.0 easily deals with the ideal placement of weight from a 1Kg block to over 20Kg without fuss. Whatever your dive, you can relax and know your system is able to cope beautifully.
Balanced to Achieve Easy Trim
The XDEEP weight management system allows you to place the weight in an ideal position relative to your centre of gravity. The central weight pocket is simple to move within a considerable range. Just as if you were moving a V or tail weight on a twinset, you can apply the same principle for optimum position and thereby perfect balance.
Enjoy ‘dive god’ levels of trim and balance - easily
Secure and Smart Weight Pocket Closures
Unintentionally losing weight and being unable to hold decompression stops can lead to serious injury or worse. In technical diving the consequences of losing weights far outweighs the potential need to drop them. The STEALTH 2.0 weight pocket design cleverly prevents any accidental losses.
Side fastening bands are reinforced by a main band, preventing undesired opening of the pocket and accidental release of the weights. Resistant to contact with the roof of a wreck or cave and easy to visually inspect for integrity pre dive or during a descent check. Making adjustments, moving weights and securing the straps can be done quickly, even underwater.
THE WORLD’S MOST VERSATILE SIDEMOUNT SYSTEM
The STEALTH 2.0 TEC Setup will perform perfectly on a deep trimix dive or on a long multi stage overhead penetration dive. It will even cope brilliantly with a single cylinder dive for fun on a colourful reef. If you add in the versatility that the Classic and REC wings provide you have an almost infinite number of options configurable to the dive you want to do that day.
Set up to Suit you in just a Couple of Minutes
The three wing systems for the STEALTH 2.0; Classic, TEC and REC are designed, manufactured and tested specifically for their intended purpose. The ability to use any of the three wings with the STEALTH 2.0 harness and weight management system, making any set-up changes in only a few minutes is not only unique, but inspired.
TECHNOLOGY
Advanced materials technology utilised in innovative design has been the key to XDEEP’S success. Using only the very best materials sourced from Germany and USA and designed and built in Europe, we will never compromise on quality.
CORDURA®Ÿ 1100 dTEX
CORDURA® is a widely known brand of polyamide fabrics of the highest resistance resulting from special weave structure and weaving method. The outer side of CORDURA® fabric is coated with Teflon aperture, which ensures very high resistance to abrasion. The inner side of the CORDURAŸ fabric we use is coated with a layer of polyurethane.
The XDEEP dive gear are only made of CORDURA®Ÿ fabric produced in Germany in compliance with the highest quality standards of INVISTA company.
CORDURA® is a registered trademark of INVISTA company for resistant textile fabrics. More information on CORDURA® fabric can be found on www.cordura.com Teflon® is a registered trademark of E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Company.
Anti-Bacterial Coating
The moisture inside the BCD or a buoy creates perfect conditions for the development of different types of microorganisms, including fungi and pathogenic bacteria.
By removing water from the BCD after the dive, it or not you form some aerosol which is filled with numerous bacteria. And from there it is very easy for them to get to your lungs and sinus.
Many divers have already experienced how bothersome it is, when chronic problems with upper airways deprived them of diving for many long months.
In order to reduce the risk, the inner shell in all XDEEP buoyancy compensators and SMBs contains special agent preventing the development of bacteria and fungi. The agent, safe for people, permanently adheres to the shell, so it does not rinse off and protects your dive gear during the entire period of use.
TPU 0.215mm Coating
To provide water tightness of the bladder in each wing the bladder material is coated with a special outer shell made of thermo-weldable polyurethane, during the production. It enables welding the bladder consisting of two parts and filling it with air.
Its parameters and quality translates directly into your safety and durability of the BCD. We can say with no exaggeration that it is one of the most essential parts of each wing and diving buoy.
In general, in wings and jackets shells of thickness from 0.08 mm to 0.2 mm are applied. In xDEEP buoyancy compensators we use materials coated with as much as 0.215 mm-thick TPU shell. The shells of higher thickness are more resistant to any damage that thinner shells. Consequently, it provides better safety of use.
"K" type inflator
K-type inflator used as a standard type of inflators in all our buoyancy compensators is a balanced piston type inflator, which enables precise adding of the gas to the buoyancy compensator.
The body of the inflator is made of POM-H poliacetal of very high mechanical durability and 100% resistance to salt water. The seat of the valve is made of metal and therefore the inflator is definitely more resistant to freezing than other inflators made completely of plastic. All metal parts of the inflator are made of top quality alloys resistant to salt water.
The inflator is equipped with the most popular type of medium pressure hose connection so there are no problems with its incompatibility with the first stage hose. The material retains very high mechanical resistance and flexibility both in low winter temperatures and in tropical heat.
Ultrasonic Welding
Welding of some elements in the dive gear, such as reinforcement of valve seats, s precise heating-up of the joint without heating-up the entire element. The said ment is satisfied only by the state-of-the-art welding method, i.e. ultrasonic welding.
It involves introducing sound waves of over 20KHz frequency to the fabrics to be joined together using sonotrode (picture nearby). At the junction of two fabrics the mechanical energy is converted into heat and pressure, which results in welding the fabrics. The heat is generated point-wise only at the junction of the fabrics to be joint together, which as a result makes it possible to avoid harmful heating of the entire fabric.
The elements of our SMBs and diving BCDs are welded with the use of specialized numerically controlled welding machine and instrumentation specially constructed for the said purpose.
The process guarantees very precise control of energy transferred to the fabric providing solid and repeatable welds.
HF Welding
Welding is one of the stages in the production of BCDs and diving buoys. In XDEEP we attach a lot of significance to the quality of the said process since durability and weld resistance exert great impact on your safety.
From among several different welding technologies, we have selected HF welding because of very high repeatability of parameters, homogeneity of welds and fully automatic process.
The fabric is inserted between two electrodes and then the computer begins to control the welding process. The electrodes are connected to the source of high-frequency electric power, and a special controller strictly regulates the power and time of welding to obtain the top-quality weld.
Thanks to such advanced technology and top-quality of fabrics used for production, XDEEP scuba gear is provided with lifetime guarantee on all welds.
Fabric Laser Cutting
The bladders in all xDEEP wings are cut with the use of specialized laser for cutting fabric.
The computer-controlled machine equipped with high power laser cuts the shape of the bladder with an accuracy of one tenth of a millimetre with all necessary openings. The edge of the material at the cut is immediately protected against fraying during longer use.
Amann Serabond Thread
Serabond® is the top quality technical thread of Performance techX type, made of continuous polyester fibres and produced in Germany by Amann & Söhne GmbH & Co. KG, the leading company on the market of more than 150 years of tradition.
Serabond thread used as a standard thread in XDEEP diving gear was specially designed for long years of operation in extreme marine conditions and is highly resistant to all types of factors which occur during diving at sea, including the impact of salt water, UV radiation and variable temperatures.
Thanks to such reliable thread you can be sure that XDEEP diving gear will last for many years, regardless of the types of dives you are going to use it for.
Serabond is a trademark of Amann & Söhne GmbH & Co. KG.
Triple, Fully Trimmed Seams
Apparently, the seams which are of little importance, in the diving gear can cause a lot of trouble. We enormously care about the quality of the XDEEP diving gear.
The XDEEP wings are provided with a triple seam, trimmed from inside, which protects the BCD against fraying of the material edges. Such solution increases the costs of the production but guarantees that the final product will be very resistant and durable.
CNC EDGE BEVELLING
The diving gear is rather expensive so it should be constructed so as to last for many years. The diving equipment parts backplates and single tank adapters made of metal which sharp edges could cause wear through the outer shell of BCD or dry suit.
In XDEEP backplates and adapters all edges are additionally processed which involves cutting the edges at 45 degree angle using a special computer-controlled machine. The special robot precisely grinds all the edges with an accuracy of one hundredth of a millimetre.
TECHNOPOLYMER STIFFENER
The stiffeners in the diving gear are subject to significant load and have to last for many years in extreme environment. Due to extreme temperatures and salt water only the best and the most expensive materials are adequately durable and resistant.
In STEALTH 2.0 sidemount system and weight pockets we used high quality polymer stiffener of high resistance to material fatigue.
The applied polymer retains its parameters within a wide scope of temperatures; therefore it can resist both tropical heat and arctic frost.
